October Educational Event Recap

Last week we had our first Educational Event of the fall at the MacLaren Art Centre. We met in the morning, which may have been too early for some people, so if you couldn’t make it out, here’s a recap of what you missed!

There are many ways to gain access to art and culture through the MacLarenArtCentre. Participate in our Art Rental and Sales Programme to purchase or rent an original piece of contemporary art for your home or office. Free consultations are available. You may wish to become a Maclaren Benefactor or Junior Benefactor, a membership that offers numerous perks including one free work of art on loan to you for one year. We also host an annual “Off the Hook” silent auction and fundraiser. This is an opportunity to support the gallery and attend a fun event – you may even take home a work of art! October Social at Brewery Bay

Brewery BayFor our October Social, we wandered up Highway 11 to Orillia (we are the Simcoe County Young Professionals Association, you know) to Brewery Bay. Even though it was a relatively small turn out, it was an excellent event. We had their private room reserved (which was quite nice!), and Brewery Bay provided us with ample (free!) appetizers. Add to that a cookie skillet, some great networking and drinks, and you have yourself an event worth attending.

While we probably won’t head up to Orillia again for a while, hopefully the Orillians (?) that came out will make their way down to Barrie for the occasional social in upcoming months!
